Worst-Hair-Ever!!!

Is it requisite to have an identity crises every time you get your hair cut? For me it is....I am officially never ever going to be asked on another date again! I have the ugliest hair on the planet! I know its wrong, and vain, but my hair is a huge part of my identity, and now I look like a bad 35 years old cut from 10 years ago! No matter who I go to, they underestimate my mane of hair that is so thick, I always leave looking like I am wearing a Cleopatra wig! Okay, its not that short this time, but short enough that I bawled my eyes out, and my parents were serious wondering who they let back in their house this Christmas! Am I brave enough to rev it up with my own snips? NEVER, go the hair-dresser your mom does!!! I have been given this advice before, and ignored it.

That's tough! I always think I'll love a new short hair cut and then I do and then I don't... You'll probably get used to it after a while and maybe even like it.

My mom is a hairstylist, so I've done a fair number of crazy things with my hair. Some I've loved (ie. purple hair), and some I've hated (ie. boy cut--I have too many masculine/big features...).

My suggestion? Find people who are famous (they're easier to find pictures of online and in magazines) and have made a similar look work and see, if you like it, how you can emulate that look.

(take out the word "work" there... sorry...)

oh Honey!!! It is true, after a major cut there is always that initial shock.

I will send pictures of my hair cut when I get it done, then you can show people, at least it doesn't look like hers! lol

Just a little humor ;)

P.S. From a voice of experience, don't try to fix it yourself!! :(

thanks for the sympathy! and I will have to go through some mags, the thing is, this is too molly mormon looking to find a match! Is is too hard to just want to be beautiful like a supermodel?

I know this doesn't make it all better, but at least now you can explore new hair-do's.

My mom goes to a lovely young lady who does a good job and knows how to do things like texturize and layer, rather than deal you a blunt cut. Call her up this morning and ask her who she sees, as I can't, for the life of me, remember! She is probably going crazy anyway, with all the testosterone in the house and I can't even rescue her until Wed.

I fixed mine myself and I liked it better than what the girl who cut it did. But then, my mom's a hairstylist and I have a little bit of experience/know-how. I think...

As far as the Molly Mormon thing goes, unless it's the 90's mom cut (which mine was, and I actually ended up liking it), you can probably go shorter. It sounds really scary right now, but it might look nicer and/or grow out nicer too. Since you don't like it now, anyway, maybe you can find someone with a similar face shape who has shorter hair than you do and a haircut you think is cute. Might be worth the try.

Best of luck with whatever you end up doing!

Maybe now you have the chance to die your hair half-purple and go for the "arty" look. Haven't you always wanted to be arty-looking, in your favorite color?

Hehe, okay, maybe not that way.

I've come to the conclusion most hairstylists follow some mold instead of considering hair texture, face shape, etc. That's what you pay extra for...in Beverly Hills or somewhere good looking people live and we don't.
